Katie, is a licenced Mindfulness Teacher and qualified Usui Reiki and Animal Reiki Healer, which is the traditional Japanese method of Reiki. She holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours Degree in Psychology, which is accredited by the British Psychological Society. She also holds a Master of Science Degree in Psychology, specialising in Human Animal Interaction. Katie, uses this knowledge, to promote wellbeing with a focus on teaching people the tools they need, to help themselves.
Katie, began practicing Mindfulness after experiencing a stressful period in her life. Mindfulness, made such a positive impact, that she decided to undergo training to teach this and obtained her licence as a Mindfulness Teacher. “Mindfulness, brings so much peace to your thinking and life, it provides a strong sense of calm, that you always want to hold on to it. It taught me how to disengage, release and accept situation that you cannot control, such as negative thought patterns, stress and hurt. This then makes room to embrace joy, peace and happiness in your life. Mindfulness, has not only helped me move through stressful times, but has helped me adopt new strategies in my thinking and approach to life, which promote healing, health and calm. These practices remain in my life today.”
On a similar note, Katie discovered Reiki healing after coming through a difficult period in her life. “I originally learned about energy healing, to help place energetic boundaries, to prevent negative situations from draining me emotionally and physically. “To be honest, what I gained from Reiki healing, I was not expecting! Gradually a heavy weight lifted from me, and the balance in my life was restored. I still notice this effect in my life today…it’s really incredible”. Katie’s interest in healing developed from this and she trained as a Reiki healer, who now offers healing treatments to clients.
“What I love about teaching Mindfulness and Reiki heling, is that people can come as they are. They don’t need to put on a front or hide anything, they don’t even need to talk, yet the energy knows how to help them. Mindfulness, helps a lot of people release emotions and thoughts that they may have been holding on to for years. What’s great about the Mindfulness classes is the interaction, without people needing to talk about their own situation directly. It gives people self-help tools, along with strategies to adopt when they are faced with difficult situations in life, which then empowers them. It’s one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching Mindfulness. Reiki, works in a similar way, where it can help create balance and release energy blocks, in a what can seem like very chaotic times in a person’s life. I am so grateful to be able to help others through Mindfulness and Reiki, it is a true privilege.”
