Reiki Energy Healing
What is Reiki and how can it help?
Reiki is a complementary holistic therapy, that uses energy healing to facilitate deep relaxation and promote self-healing. The energy is transferred through the Reiki healer to the client. The aim of Reiki is to remove energy blockages within the body, to improve the flow of energy, which helps promote healing and relieve symptoms of physical and emotional discomfort.
Reiki System Used at Orenda Scotland
The original Japanese method (Usui Reiki) is used at Orenda Scotland, which is the Eastern method of Reiki.
How is Reiki carried out?
Reiki healing can take place either as an In-person or Distant Healing appointment (below outlines the differences in the services). Reiki healing sessions are one-hour appointments, that focuses on releasing energy blockages in your body. The practitioner works intuitively with Reiki energy to aid healing.
In-person: The Reiki healer will gently place or hover their hands, over the body to release these blockages. The appointment includes a client intake discussion, initial relaxation, full body Reiki healing, then feedback on where energy blockages were found in the body. Please note, this is not a diagnostic service, the Reiki practitioner is only able to comment on where they discovered energy blockages, which they helped release.
Distant Healing: This is just as effective as in person healing, and follows the same method, but the Reiki healer is not physically in the room with you. A client intake form will be sent to you before your session, which I go over with you before the healing sessions begins. Sessions are carried out through Zoom, this 1. 2. This allows for any questions before or after the session.
Energy Clearing in the Home or Work Place:
Buildings collect and hold energy. We can often feel the effects of this, for example you may notice, you can feel a certain energy when you walk into a room? When negative energy is stuck, overtime you may feel drained, tired and can often suffer from low mood and sometimes health issues. Clearing energy from a building works in a similar way to clearing energy in a person. The Reiki practitioner, will asses the building and work with the stuck energy that they identify. The energy can then be cleared using Reiki. Please note this is different from working with a Spiritual Presences in a building. Animal reiki
What is Animal Reiki?
Reiki healing with animals is a complimentary holistic service, that requires further knowledge than apply Reiki healing to humans. Animal Reiki works in the same way as it does with humans, and can help animals who are in need of relaxation, have past trauma, behavioural issues, pain, or coming to the end of their life.
What happens during an Animal Reiki treatment?
Treatments are offered within the animals own surrounds, this helps the animal feel more relaxed. Animals, have very different behaviours than that of humans, so treatments are designed with this in mind. Similar to Reiki that is carried out on humans, the Reiki practitioner will use different hand positions on the animal, as well as sending reiki towards them.
Appointment typically last an hour. This will depend on the animal and how long they wish to receive reiki for. Smaller animals tend to take a shorter amount of time, as their energy field is smaller, with larger animals taking longer sessions.
Can animals who are deemed as 'dangerous' or 'difficult' receive healing?
Absolutely! Reiki is very versatile, and can be used with an animal in a number of different ways. A discussion would be had with the owner, and a tailored session would be made for the animal.
What animals can receive Reiki?
Any animal can receive Reiki, no matter how large or small. Below in an indication, but this is not limited to the list:

- Small Furries (e.g. rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, gerbils, mice)
- Birds
- Fish

Veterinary Approval
Reiki is a complementary holistic service and should not used in place of medical treatment under The Protection of Animals Act, 1911. Veterinary approval must be sought before a Reiki treatment commences Veterinary Surgeons Act, 1966. More information on this will be given during the booking of your appointment.
